Description:

In a panoramic position on Lake Como, Villa Taverna was built by Count Paolo Taverna in the late eighteenth century.
Villa Taverna was later rented to Francesco Melzi d'Eril, who lived there while construction work was being performed on the neighbouring Villa Melzi.
In the 1800’s the property was sold to the noble Poldi Pezzoli family that expanded the property with the addition of two side wings connected to the main building with galleries. The villa was subsequently sold to the Trivulzio family and later to the Gerli family in 1941. Purchasing a villa on the lake is a unique yet important experience to be entrusted to qualified professionals such as Property at Lake Como.

Villa Taverna, designed in neoclassical style, is made up by a central building surrounded by two wings that project out towards the large, four hectare English-style garden.
The marvellous park designed by Balzaretto reveals a particularly spontaneous tree vegetation where the most diverse plant species thrive. At the end of the park there is a Neo-Gothic mausoleum, designed by Carlo Maciachini for Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli at the end of the nineteenth century.
The small yet beautiful Romanesque church of Santa Maria di Loppia rises up in the park of Villa Taverna, which was once connected to a small cloister that was destroyed when the large cypress-lined driveway was opened.

Villa Taverna rises up in Torno on Lake Como in a panoramic position between the inlet of Loppia and the district of San Giovanni.
Located just a few minutes by car from the city of Como.
