Upcoming Como Events - Argentine Tango & Cernobbio Celebrations

Rich heritage and culture of Como lures tourists and vacationers from all over the world. Many come to experience its exciting art scene and also to become part of local festivals & celebrations happening throughout the year. The approaching days are bringing two major events that will bring you across a Como that celebrates music and dance. Here are the major attractions of July and August.

 Argentine Tango Night at CastaDiva Resort & Spa

In the year 2009, the amazing dance form was declared part of "intangible cultural heritage" by UNESCO. On 14 July 2013, CastaDiva Resort & Spa will host a special tango night in the presence of World Tango Championship finalists.

The Tango Spleen Quarteto will take care of the music for the gathering on the terrace by the lake Andrea Bassi and Alice Gaini.

Dr. Pablo Werba from the Centro Cardiologico Monzino in Milan will elaborate on the heart and circulatory system related health benefits of the dance form.

Guests will also get an opportunity to experience the rich aromas and tastes of Argentine cuisine. Alessio Mecozzi, Executive Chef of CastaDiva, will curate a special menu to make sure that taste buds perform their version of tango.

Festival città di Cernobbio 2013       

If July is full of dance and fun, then, August is surely full of music.

This year’s version of Festival città di Cernobbio will kick off on August 4 and will carry on till August 15. All the music-laden events will take place in Villa Erba in Cernobbio and entry to all the performances will be free.

Young performers from Academy of Music Giuditta Pasta Como will show their talent and entertain audience with their music. This is the perfect place to explore the Como music & culture scene. Events are scattered over different days with gaps in between; so, make sure you go through the schedule.

Entry wouldn’t be allowed once the show initiates. So, make sure you reach on time.
