The "Angelo Moratti" sporting centre of Appiano Gentile, in the province of Como, was built in the early 1960’s on a commission by its president Angelo Moratti and with the close oversight of the former coach of the Inter soccer club Helenio Herrera.
Far removed from the streets, noise and stress of everyday city life, the Pinetina Golf Club stretches over seventy verdant hectares set within the Pineta Park of Appiano Gentile and Tradate with its forests of Scotch Pine, Larch, Oak and Chestnuts. Whilst playing on these splendid 18 holes, golfers can listen to the sounds of nature, watch hawks in flight, see hares running through the undergrowth and admire ducks on the lake. The course winds over rolling terrain and offers a variety of challenging holes with charming, never before seen panoramic views of Monte Rosa, the Lombardy Pre-Alps, and on clear days, a view of the Apennines.
The recently expanded and renovated Club House offers impeccable hospitality and guest accommodations with each room overlooking the green.
The Pinetina Golf Club is located 35 Km north of Milan and 12 Km south of Como. In addition to golf, the “Angelo Moratti” sporting centre is where you can practice various sports and observe the training of one of Milan’s two first division teams: Inter. Many players on the national team (such as the captain Zanetti) have purchased a home on Lake Como where they reside with their families.
