Monticello Golf Club Lake Como

The Monticello Golf Club is located in Cassina Rizzardi.

Founded in 1974 on an area of about 140 hectares thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of the brothers Alessandro and Giuseppe Panza of Biumo who, surrounded by an exclusive real estate complex made up by about 600 villas and apartments, planned the construction of a golf course made up by two 18-hole courses on the same property, a development model that was extremely exclusive in Italy at the time.

The aim was to create a sporting and residential structure where member residents could live in a community at one with nature.
The urban development and architectural design was entrusted to the architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni.
The golf courses, which are continuously modified by well known architects, owe their present layout to the intervention of Graham Cooke.

The Monticello Golf Club  has hosted seven Italian Opens and some of the most prestigious players in the world have played here. Costantino Rocca remains the course record holder with a game of 63, while Severiano Ballesteros has played here since the very beginning of his exceptional career.
The Monticello Golf Club has two artificial lakes, is surrounded by mountains and has two-hundred thousand trees that frame this unique and fascinating course. Its members, which number about one thousand, can take advantage of club’s myriad of efficiently managed structures: 5 tennis courts, volleyball court, swimming pool, regulation sized soccer field and five-a-side soccer field.
