In the small town of Cernobbio, famous for intentional meeting of economy, finance and politics, a few minutes from the center of Como sets the beautiful Villa Magnolia, built in the early twentieth century during the Belle Epoque.
The Liberty style villa matches well with the art nouveau villas of the town of Brunate. From the terrace of Villa Magnolia there is in a dominant position framed by the green of the mountain.
A turn of the century, when the aristocracy of Milano was setting their second luxurious second homes, Cernobbio and Brunate were considered the most prestigious tourist resorts in Europe.
The breathtaking views of the lake and the Alps, hotels wanted, the funicular, created an atmosphere of luxury that attracted famous families.
Villa Magnolia belonged to the aristocracy of Monza; built and furnished with taste this villa has 3 floors with a total of 660 square meters on the ground floor and attic with a green house. Its facade is embellished with decorative elements of Art Nouveau and has some balconies with wrought iron railings of excellent workmanship and a large terrace with panoramic view of the first basin of Lake Como, the city and the surrounding hills.
The property on the sunny side boasts gardens of more than 1500 square meters which develops in slope but the ladders and the allee on different levels make the park enjoyable and usable. An historic magnolia tree grew near the entrance gave the name to the villa.
The "belle époque" period is over and after two world wars many villas have been neglected. This fate has also touched villa Magnolia.
But remains to the Villa the spirit of the nest of the family of the old Italian bourgeoisie, the membership at the time and in the Como area, now always the most precious values.
The building, which last year had a substantial renovations, is now waiting to be completed in detail (in the greenhouse, well, sunny and long disused, you can for example create a welcoming pool relaxation) of the taste of their new owners.
